In 1989, at the fall of Communism in Romania, state-run orphanages collapsed, and thousands of children were left on their own, many of them living in tunnels under the streets of Bucharest and other cities. Due to the transient nature of these children and youth, there are no valid statistics. In our travels to Romania, we have witnessed for ourselves the dark world of sex trafficking, drug addiction, and alcoholism affecting generations with HIV/AIDS, TB, Hepatitis, and other diseases.
In 2008, we were given a God dream in which we were caring for homeless children in Romania. In 2015, we purposed ourselves to enter their world and bring the hope of Jesus Christ believing that the resurrection power of His love could set anyone free from any bondage. Since that time, we have developed a strong trust relationship within that community, and we are seeing young men and women set free from addiction and committing their lives to Christ. That is the first step. Now we move into creating God’s vision for their lives and disciple them into a productive, self-sustaining, beautiful God-filled lifestyle . The Good Shepherd leaves the 99 sheep to find the one lost sheep. With that in mind, we purpose ourselves to search for the one, to stop for and to love the one, and to help each onefind their value, worth and true identity. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son...”
We are partnering with Raluca Pahomi of Associate Homeless of Bucharest, Romania, and local churches to provide transitional housing and help for those coming out of this dark chaos.
