Emmanuel Orphanage Home exists to express the gospel of God’s love to Nakuru, Kenya, by providing a home for critical-needs children, a feeding program for street children, a church for discipleship and training, and, most importantly, a family for God’s sons and daughters.
background
Many children beg and live on the streets in Nakuru; many have lost both parents, and their relatives are unable to care for them; addiction consumes many, even young children. After seeing this great need within their community, the Lord impressed upon Pastor Ismael and Carren Wagongo to care for these children. They welcomed one child into their home to live with them and their children. After some time, the Lord gave them a vision of being able to care for more children. In 2004, they founded Emmanuel Orphanage Home in Nakuru. In 2020, Pastor Ismael passed away, and now the work is being carried on by Carren Wagongo and the local staff with the support of Gather1.
