Gather1 Ethiopia exists to reveal the gospel of God’s love by providing a home to orphans and education, development, and discipleship. We want to show that the power of the cross and the resurrection of Christ will bring life and restoration.
background
Since the start of the civil war in South Sudan in 2013, over 2,280,000 people have fled their homes and have become refugees. Four hundred twenty thousand refugees have settled in the Gambella Region, Ethiopia. The founders of Gather1, Brad and Kim Campbell, and their family fled the war in South Sudan in 2014 with their staff and several children in their care. Since then, they established a children’s center in Gambella, but then, in 2023, Gather1 moved all of the children in their care to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and established Nehemiah House due to continued unrest in the region.
nehemiah house - addis ababa
Nehemiah House exists to care for critical-needs children who have lost their parents due to war or extreme poverty. We help our children finish their education, disciple them, teach them life skills, and help them create jobs so that they can become kingdom-builders within their families, communities, and nations.
